Principal's Message
Dear La Colima Owls, Parents, and Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at La Colima Elementary. I am proud to serve as your child’s principal and look forward to working with one another throughout the year. I hope you and your family had a fun and relaxing summer break. I cannot wait to see the new and returning La Colima owls! This year, our theme is “La Colima: Exploring the Galaxy of Learning.” As a school, we are committed to exploring new ways of learning to deepen your child’s understanding of the world around them.
Our staff members are fueling up at their shuttle stations to launch into the new school year! At La Colima we focus on fostering your child’s development academically, behaviorally, and social emotionally. Throughout the year, students will have access to a rigorous, standards based curriculum. Our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program allows students to be taught the positive ways to interact with their peers, staff members, and how to navigate throughout the campus in a safe and fun manner.
The facilities and programs at La Colima are expanding and improving. This summer and early fall, the primary playground and other areas on campus were repaved and updated. Every other week, students in grades K-5 will receive enrichment lessons in the areas of Art, Music, STEM, or Physical Education through our Broad Course of Study program. In addition, all 4th & 5th-grade students will continue to receive bi-weekly violin lessons.
I am thrilled to blast off into the 2024-2025 school year! With a commitment towards excellence, our students will soar! The La Colima shuttle launches on August 13th and I can’t wait to take this journey with all of you!
