Dear La Colima Owls, Parents, and Families,

 

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal of La Colima. Here, we believe that every child has the potential to learn, grow, and thrive. I am honored to lead a dedicated team of educators who are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports the academic and social-emotional development of all students.

Our theme for this school year will be “Teamwork is the Real Diamond”. Inspired by the world of Minecraft where collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving lead to success! Like in the game, where diamonds hold great value, at our school, the true diamond lies in the power of teamwork. When we work together - students, staff, and families - we unlock endless possibilities for our students.

At La Colima, we are committed to nurturing the whole child, ensuring that each student grows academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe that a strong foundation in literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving is essential for academic success, and we are equally dedicated to helping our students develop confidence, empathy, and resilience.

We value the partnership between home and school and believe that open communication and family involvement are key to student success. We invite you to be an active part of our school community through volunteering, attending school events, and maintaining regular communication with your child’s teacher.
