La Colima School is a tight-knit community of students, teachers, parents, and support staff members with a common interest- developing the best child-centered learning environment in which students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

At the East Whittier City School District, we are preparing our students to be 21st Century citizens by teaching them five essential skills: Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, Critical thinking and Community. These skills will open the door to our students' future education, careers and other important areas of their lives.

EWCSD Town Hall Meetings

First Day of School is August 15, 2017!

EWCSD Launches Summer Bond Projects with La Colima Playground Groundbreaking

East Whittier School District administrators, board members and state elected officials donned hard hats and used golden shovels to dig into La Colima Elementary’s kindergarten playground at a groundbreaking ceremony on June 16, kicking off the District’s first series of Measure R and Measure Z facility improvement projects

La Colima School and EWCSD named to Honor Roll

La Colima School was named to the Educational Results Partnership and Campaign for Business and Education Excellence Honor Roll for the sixth consecutive year. EWCSD was also named as an Honor Roll District for the fifth year in a row.

New South Whittier Library is Now Open!

Many La Colima Owls and families joined in the grand opening celebration of the new South Whittier Library. Our Student Council President Nicolas was a featured speaker at the event.
